What makes a
A wedding DJ specialist:
As a wedding specialist, your marketing material, including leaflets, business cards and website should reflect this. The design and copy needs to be aimed at the wedding market.
From answering the telephone or email enquiry to supplying paperwork for the event, the bride and groom need to feel confident that they have found a professional for what is in effect the most important day of their lives.
Planning a wedding and having to deal with a number of different suppliers can be a stressful process. Ensure communication is easy and responding times are kept to an absolute minimum.
A booking form or contract, signed by both parties, should be supplied detailing the time date and venue of the function. Nothing should be left to chance.
It is essential to have an in-depth meeting with your bride and groom. This is your opportunity to not only determine music and specific songs to be played, but to find out more about the couple thus enabling you to create a personalised and unique evening's entertainment.
You should be prepared to spend time sourcing required music and ensuring special dances are checked thoroughly and are backed up on a separate music source. Many couples give a lot of thought to their first dance and a substitute is not an option.
Your code of dress also reflects your professionalism and actually affects people's perception of you. Your conduct should be exemplary, not just for the bride and groom, but also for their guests, other suppliers and the venue staff.
At a wedding you are more than the person who stands in the corner and presses play. You are responsible for making your couple feel special, their guests comfortable and the atmosphere just right.
The WdjA is for those mobile DJs who primarily specialise in wedding receptions and offer a dedicated wedding service to brides & grooms.
It would be expected that DJs who meet this criteria would also be able to demonstrate to potential clients that they are indeed specialists from their replies to enquiries and in their promotional material.
DJs who do not meet this criteria are unlikely to benefit from the enquiries we generate.
For this reason we have a selection process which is determined from the answers provided on this application form.
You will receive a decision within 48 hours of completing the registration form.
